Rolls - 12HHG325 -- 325 amp hour

Problem, how to get more battery capacity in the same space as the standard 8D battery case.

Rolls had developed their 275ah "Big Red" battery a few years ago and had achieved the largest capacity available, at that time, in the standard 8D case.

New for 2001 is their 325ah Super 8D. The marine requirements for the installation of batteries is that they be installed into an approved battery box. Rolls decided that to increase capacity they would need to build the battery into a heavy duty battery box. This would allow them the luxury of additional space that is normally reserved for installation of the battery into the box.

In addition, they determined the new battery should be modular in order to make the installation easier. The battery including the box weighs in at 200 lbs. By making it modular, with bolt together cells, the heaviest piece is only 30 lbs.

To make the battery low maintenance the battery comes standard with recombination Hydro Caps and high liquid reserve. These features coupled with the correct charging sources will allow you to place the battery on a 1 year watering cycle.

The tremendous positive plate thickness of .150" will deliver up to 1280 cycles when discharged to 50%. (battery should still have about 80% capacity)
