GRAND MARINER FUEL SYSTEM The difficulties of being able to properly install the basic Espar fuel system in many marine situations resulted in the development of the "Get it anywhere" fuel system for the "Grand Mariner" Espar heater. This fuel system will allow the installer to make use of the vessels existing fuel system, without drilling into and installing separate pick-up tubes in the fuel tank. This system will also allow you to install or utilize an existing "Water Separator" fuel filter, such as the Racor, which can not be used with a fuel pick up tube and metering pump alone. The "Get it Anywhere" fuel system utilizes a small automatic precision pressure regulator located near the heater. The regulator is fed by a fuel boost pump located at the fuel source. The boost pump can be sized to enable the fuel to be moved farther and higher than the heaters "fuel metering pump". The pressure regulator is used as a buffer between the boost pump and the metering pump. This buffer will eliminate any over pressure the metering pump would see without this isolation. The metering pump is supplied fuel at a very low 1.25 psi. Never attempt to adjust the screw on the pressure regulator. It has been factory adjusted and sealed. The most complicated part of the "get it anywhere" fuel system is to mount the boost pump so it does not transmit noise into the cabin. The current systems are being delivered with a "quiet mount" system to reduce the possibility of any noise being heard in the cabin. The fuel metering pump and regulator have somewhat the same problem but not as severe. The fuel pressure regulator does not have any venting requirements and does not require a fuel return line. However the fuel lines will need to be bled the first time the system is fired or if the fuel lines have run dry, to reduce the time to prime the system.
