Electrochemical corrosion of the metals is one of the most
destructive forces that can occur during a boat's lifetime. Cathodic protection
is a process designed to prevent corrosion by altering a metal's electrochemical
characteristics with electrical current.
Your boat's under water metal fittings such as propellers,
shafts, struts and thru-hull fittings are susceptible to electrochemical
corrosion. There are sever. types of corrosive influences such as:
- Galvanic Corrosion
- Stray Current Corrosion
- Caustic Attack to Wood
- Caustic Attack to Aluminum

Requirements |
The Electro-Guard Model 620A requires
12 volt input power to operate. The 12 volt battery system on the boat
must be maintained with an automatic marine battery charger.
If the battery is allowed to discharge the Electro-Guard system will stop
and you will not have any galvanic protection. |
