>500
C/3 @ 80% DOD
This rating means that these batteries should give you
over 500 discharge and recharge cycles, at a
discharge current of 1/3 of battery capacity and
depth of
discharge of 80%.
After 500 cycles the capacity of the battery will be about 80% of the new
rating.
As an example, you have a new battery rated at 100ah, you discharged it at
33.3 amps until the battery had only 20ah remaining, then recharged per the
manufacturers instructions. After about 500 cycles the battery capacity should
be about 80ah.
Compared to: (comparisons are average and valid for properly maintained
batteries)
Standard lead acid starting battery, capacity would be reduced to 80%
after about 40 cycles.
Standard lead acid deep cycle battery, its capacity would be reduced to
80% after about 150-200 cycles.
Heavy Duty lead acid deep cycle battery, its capacity would be
reduced to 80% after about 200-300 cycles.
Extra Heavy Duty Industrial lead acid deep cycle battery, its capacity
would be reduced to 80% after about 1200-1500 cycles.
